The Anchorage Wolverines gained membership in the North American Hockey League in March of 2021. They joined the Midwest division of the league, and became the third NAHL team in the state of Alaska, alongside the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and the Kenai River Brown Bears.
The Wolverines played its first three seasons at the Ben Boeke Ice Arena nicknamed “The Ben” and have enjoyed widespread support from the Anchorage Community, packing The Ben consistently throughout the three years.
The 2024 season brings a new home for the Anchorage Wolverines, one they have wanted to call home since inception: The Sullivan Arena.
The number one goal of the Wolverines is to provide an outstanding player experience which includes focus on each player’s career advancement. The player’s off ice experience includes mental and physical training, community service, and academic and nutritional education.
The Wolverines Organization is committed to supporting youth hockey in Anchorage, and helping strengthen competition in order to keep Alaskan players in Alaska. Players and coaches participate in youth hockey development throughout the season to cultivate strong relationships with the strong youth hockey programs in Anchorage.
