Join us for an epic adventure on Sunday, September 15th, as we tackle the challenging Penguin Peak Trail in Girdwood, Alaska, led by Adolph Garcia! 🌲🥾
Trail Details:
– Distance: 6.3 miles (out-and-back)
– Elevation Gain: Challenging
– Duration: Estimated 6 hours 7 minutes
Recent trail reviews indicate that while most of the trail above treeline is in great shape, the beginning section is a bit overgrown, making for a tough start. Expect classic September conditions—wet and muddy—so we highly recommend sturdy, waterproof footwear to tackle the terrain. 🏔️🌧️
What to Bring:
– Plenty of water and high-energy snacks
– Sturdy hiking boots with good traction
– Layered clothing to adjust for varying weather conditions
– Trekking poles (recommended for steep sections)
– A camera to capture the stunning views
