Kincaid Park
Try winter. Make this the winter you love by finding what brings you frosty joy at the free Parks+Trails Recreation Fair on September 21st at the Kincaid Wax Bunker. Outdoor and community organizations will host booths, workshops, and demonstrations to show off the fantastic ways to enjoy parks and trails around Anchorage. Learn how to start skiing, kicksledding, wild ice skating, or release your inner daredevil by getting set up to ski jump. Tap into your art skills with a painting group, or find your muse with community theatre. Ask all the questions you have about how to start dog sledding. Give winter a chance this year and find your new cold-weather activity.
While at the fair, take a walk with a local naturalist, a military historian, or a search-and-rescue dog. Try out the orienteering course or shake up your life with the earthquake simulator. Bring your little one for outdoor circle time, or teens can learn how to apply for Youth Employment in Parks. Meet Ted Kincaid, artist for our 2024 Park of the Year, and local map maker Aurora Hablett, who turns our local trails into art.
The Kincaid Bunker is located in the main parking lot near the Kincaid Chalet.
