Artist Amy Vail, originally from Ohio, is a transplant to Alaska where she has laid down deep roots. Her father was a stained glass artist and taught her the basics 40 years ago. After retiring in 2020, she finally had the time to put those lessons to good use. Following a request for glass on a bike wheel, she found her medium, shifted gears, and
hasn’t looked back.
.
Artist Katy Countryman Grant was born and raised in Alaska. Her love for Alaska inspires her to create artwork highlighting native wildflowers.
Katy’s mom came to Alaska to teach school and taught her the art of pressing and arranging flowers over 40 years ago. The opportunity to study photography at the Art Institute of Boston was a life-changing experience and continues to shape her work.
