Adventure Details:Flattop is a great vantage point to take in the views of Anchorage. It’s a local classic and has trails available for different ability levels.
If you are going for the summit, be aware of loose rocks. The peak is about 3 miles from the parking lot, with an elevation gain of about 1,500 feet. The elevation of the mountain itself is 3,510′, providing an excellent view of the city and well beyond on a clear day.
As always, be prepared for adverse weather and wildlife encounters. Bear spray/protection and water/food is a must on any outdoor Alaskan adventure.
