*** Summer 2022 has ended. Stay tuned for Spring, or contact me if you’re interested in riding fat tire bikes in Winter. ***

Known to locals as the “Bird to Gird”, is a spectacular bike ride just south of Anchorage. (sorry locals, I’m giving the secret away)

Panoramic views of the Chugach mountains, a waterway fed by ancient glaciers, and possible wildlife viewing opportunities will be highlights of the adventure.

Our trip is about 10 miles on a paved bike path. The trail is rated easy and has some elevation changes. Included in the experience is the use of a bicycle, a helmet and water. A couple of Onewheels are available to share also as a fun alternative mode of transportation.

We will begin our adventure at Bird Creek, and head to Bird Point, a scenic lookout. We’ll then head back to our starting point, and we can celebrate our successful adventure around a firepit. Bring your beverage of choice.

Wildlife varies depending on the season, but it’s not uncommon to see bald eagles, moose and dall sheep in the area. Whales come during the summer months. Although I cannot guarantee we will see wildlife, I will be on the lookout.

Some people drive the highway, but there is no substitute for all the smells and sounds of the wild taken in at the gentler pace of a bicycle; the real experience.

Welcome to Alaska!
